Let's get this out of the way: Even unseen, Top 8 contestant Adam Lambert has nothing to worry about. Anguish was felt across the land when the beloved (or befuddling) Lambert's performance of "Mad World" got inadvertently axed from video recorders. Why? The now hour-long Fox show went on too long Tuesday night. Of course, this begs the question: If you're recording "Idol," does that mean you're watching too late to make your vote count, so stop your whining? Or are you fast-forwarding through the commercials, thereby forcing Simon Cowell to sip more frequently from his keg-sized Coke cup? That aside, people who know how to work a VCR/DVR know how to go online. Variations on queries for "adam lambert 4/7," "adam lambert american idol april 7" and "adam lambert american idol mad world" made the Hollywood lad the crushing online favorite. The search for the song title rose the fastest of any other searches that day. And yes, you can find a clip here. To put this in perspective: Lambert had more performance night searches than all the other contestants combined. He had more searches than Britney Spears. He got more lookups than President Barack Obama returning from his European-Mideast Placation. (Then again, Obama gets to pre-empt "Idol.") The remaining 8's rank remain virtually unchanged, despite extra love lauded on Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud. Rather than repeat a list, let's take a look at which areas led the "Idol" pack in this TV Nation, and how that could sway the final results.
